My name is Alessandro Alvino, aka Alvin since 1996, and I am the founder of Alvin’s Tour.
I was born in Avellino (Italy), a small province a few miles from the Amalfi Coast. Today, I live in Saint Petersburg, in Tampa Bay, Florida USA.
I have always been a super dynamic person, eclectic and with multiple interests. I played various sports, some even at a semi-professional level. I was a boy-scout for several years, a basketball coach at the young age of 16. In some ways people around me have always considered me a sort of “leader” even if I don’t like this term, I feel more centralized, and who has multiple interests. Today, I would be called a “multi potential”. Over the course of my career, this characteristic of mine has been precisely what has allowed me to carry out so many activities, even in very different fields.
My biggest inspiration was my father, Edio Alvino, both as a man and as a professional. He was a teacher and a famous professional in the technical field, as well as for decades President of the Industrial Experts of Avellino and its province and National Councilor. My family had a great influence on me: thanks to the closeness to my older brothers who worked in the world of music, around the age of 14/15, I actively began to participate in the organization of events, concerts by famous International and Italian singers, fashion shows with famous brands, festivals, expo, car show, theater performances, some of which have even become nationally famous.
Since the end of the Eighties, I have started to take care of the organization of holidays at my school and for my friends, and in 1996 I organize a holiday in Agadir (Morocco) in a Valtur Village Resort, which is still the most important Italian Tour Operator, founded in 1964 by Raimondo Cravieri. Over time, Valtur opened several Village Resorts, the first being Ostuni and Capo Rizzato, and in the 1970s it became a joint stock company with direct participation by the state, and by Club Méditerranée.
Therefore, thanks to these first trips, an important chapter of my career dedicated to travel and tourist Village Resorts opens. During this trip I met the Village Resort chief Enzo Olivieri, (famous for having also discovered Fiorello, the greatest Italian showman of the period) who, seeing my enterprising and spontaneous way of doing things, suggests that I try to be an entertainer.
In December 1996, now 24 yrs old. I was summoned by Valtur for a selective internship for Marilleva (a well-known ski resort in Northern Italy) and given that among the various sports I had done in the past there was also skiing, thinking of having more possibilities by exploiting this competence in sport (My only entertainment experience was as an entertainer for children’s parties, dance halls and as a commercial promoter), I make selections for a ski guide.
Even though I was there to be selected in a different role of the entertainer, I couldn’t help but bring several “props” with me and show off entertaining the attendees, but I was doing it simply because it was in my nature.
I met Andrea Mocellin Village Resort Manager, who encouraged me to show off with my costumes during the evenings and dinners of the internship. Thanks to this, I am noticed again, this time by Carlo Brioschi, the General Manager Entertainer Valtur, who officially proposes to me to become an entertainer, and creates the nickname Alvin which becomes my brand from here on.
I am hired, and then I leave in 1997 for Pila as an entertainer DJ and Marilleva as a DJ and lighting technician, where with the opportunity I dust off my background as a DJ and lighting technician and finally begin to be an official entertainer.
So begins a working period in which I traveled a lot as both the technician and an entertainer: Pila – Val D’Aosta, Marilleva – Trentino-Alto Adige, El Kebir – Tunisia where in 1998 my role becomes more of a career. Then, in 1999 in Sestriere – Piedmont and Mahureva – Maldives Islands, I was appointed head entertainer and entertainment manager atValtur Mahureva, a wonderful Village Resort. There I had the opportunity to also take several licenses as a diver.
I return to Pila again, in 2000, after Mauritius, one of the Madagascar islands and then to Sharm El Sheik in Egypt, here I was able to exploit my creativity by devising a new format of events, namely that of the disco on yachts, born precisely from need to compensate for the lack of a nightclub in those Village Resorts. This format has been around for a long time. Also, in Sharm El Sheik I carried out, as entertainment manager, the double assignment of closing the old New Tower Village Resort and simultaneous I trained the staff and building the new Valtur Sinai Grand Village Resort, holding a role of great responsibility and with many organizational challenges and complexities: during the day we worked at the closing Village Resort, the opening one was mounted at night.
During these years spent traveling the world, I have done continuous training in various fields, learning from costume designers, sound engineers and other figures, I have held very important roles, director of musicals with considerable budgets such as Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar etc. etc. and also building from scratch shows that had never been performed in locations such as tourist Village Resort theaters, but also in national theaters (such as Dirty Dancing in 2000) covering both the position of Director, screenwriter and actor, adding further skills to those already acquired.
On 3 September 2001, I therefore decided to move to Bologna and live and work there for a while. Alongside my passion for motorcycles led me to be part of some motorcycle clubs, for which I organized trips around the world, including a 12-day tour in France and the Dynamo Camp with the Motorrad BMW Club of Bologna. I bond in particular with the BMW motorcycle club, with which I collaborate for some time to organize trips and tours on 2 wheels, touring different countries, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia and all of Italy, which I travel along and wide.
I traveled a lot in this period, Spain, Portugal, France, Malta, Luxembourg.
In January 2015 I moved to USA and I took the opportunity to relaunch my travel organization activity also thanks to the relationships I have maintained over time with Valtur. Alvin’s Tour was therefore officially born in 2017, with the planning of the first tour from the United States to Italy, which was a great success & decided to make one tour a year. Because of great demand and desire to travel in 2019 and success of my 1st tour I created a second tour. Alvins Tour are hand picked, always trustworthy, and the success of Alvin’s Tour is strongly linked to the fact that I personally participate in all trips, bringing my experience both in organization and in entertainment, and all my knowledge of the travel stops.
